You Were Called

“I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”
Ephesians 4:1-3
Have you ever paused to consider your calling, where Jesus has uniquely appointed you to serve on behalf of Himself and His Kingdom within society? Another way to ask this is, how does Jesus express Himself through you as His personal ambassador to the world around you?
In our daily walk, does how we relate and serve people reflect the ways of Jesus? Truth is many people have a difficult time seeing who Jesus is and what He is really like. You and I have the great privilege of showing them more personally what He is like as we reflect His love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, through our calling.
A worthy walk before God will be marked by lowliness and gentleness, not a pushy desire to defend our own rights and advance our own agenda. This humble, forgiving attitude towards each other naturally fulfills this gift of the unity of the Spirit.
My prayer for us today is that we really understand how much God did for us, so that, we walk in our calling in a worthy matter.
Love & Prayers,
Alan James Schrader
