SALVATION

“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:9-10

The word salvation means “deliverance.” It can mean deliverance from fear, enemies, sin, sickness, death, our fleshly bodies, even from eternal judgment. Those who confess that “salvation is of the Lord” are acknowledging that we human beings cannot save ourselves. The enemies of our souls are too strong, and within ourselves we are to weak. Therefore we are completely dependent on God.
The name Yeshua (Jesus) appropriately means “the salvation of God” and the promise has been given, “Whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved” (Acts 2:21). He is referred to in the scriptures as:
The rock of our salvation, to whom we “shout joyfully” (Psalm 95:1).
The captain of our salvation, who was made “perfect through suffering” (Hebrews 2:10).
The author of eternal salvation “to all who obey Him” (Hebrews 5:9).
My prayer for us today is that we believe in who He is and to come into alignment with His Word and will. Let the church say AMEN!
Love & Prayers,
Alan James Schrader
